Galaxy Rise this is the only way I can really communicate with you at the moment so:
Whats the perspective like from China? And when do you get home?
Well, the second question’s easy enough: Early next year, assuming all goes to plan. As for the first question, well, I’m liking it enough that I decided to stay the year, at least. Beyond that… Let’s just say I can empathise with you taking forever to finish the Fes story. I should have plenty to write about living in China, and I do, but they’re all disparate little things and I alternate between being too busy and too lazy to sit down and write something coherent and do it justice.
When you posted this, I needed a break from studying so I was going to write a good long reply. But then I was like, why not learn Japanese instead? So, I can write some Hiragana now.
I’ll try and get around to writing something a bit more insightful sometime soon, but for now, I’ll stick with a few lame comments. I like it here. Study is going well. I have some good friends. I feel safer here than I expected to. I have close friends with whom I only speak Chinese, which when I think about it feels a bit surreal, in a cool kind of way. I’ve yet to feel anything you might call culture shock, possibly because I stubbornly refuse to admit that culture exists, even though it does. Travelling for a couple of weeks at the start was fun, but living here in Harbin suits me a lot better.
